
Sam Okoth
Sam Okoth has over 20 years of an otherwise an all-around insurance knowledge and experience having started his insurance career at Pan Africa Insurance in 1999, First Assurance and then Africa Merchant Assurance Company (AMACO) Limited where he rose to a senior Underwriter’s position before moving to the United Kingdom in 2004 on the invitation of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) for a graduation and Young Insurance Professionals workshop after successfully completing ACII amongst the top performers in the country at the time.
In 2005, while in the United Kingdom, he joined the British Army as an infantry soldier and served for 8 years. He honourably discharged from the Military in 2012 with Iraq War Medal Without Clasp and, Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Post his HM Armed forces service, he joined Lloyd’s of London as a transitioning platform back into civilian workplace and has since worked with various Lloyd’s Syndicated and Brokers in the City of London in different analytical, underwriting and regulatory capacities inter alia, Pembroke Manging Agency, Catlin, Marsh & McLennan, Tokio Marine Kiln, AmTrust and Everest Group.
He holds BA(Hons) Business Management and Finance from the University of East London (UEL), Master of Laws LLM (Insurance Law) from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and is an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) of the United Kingdom by qualification.
Out of work, he is a very sociable and likable personality with an open approach to the social interactions and capital, has a fluid understanding of global geopolitical dynamics and great interest in sustainable empowerment of communal activities.
